Off Grid Essentials, a few tools to make off grid life a little less painful.

Below are just 10 of hundreds of off grid essentials items that you probably wont want to be without if you was to end up in an off grid scenario for a few days or weeks.

Permanent off grid survival is a completely different ball game and requires much more equipment and a lot more skills.

After shelter being absolutely priority to keep you and your kit dry and out of the elements I have listed a few key items below to make your off grid experience a little less painful.

The items below are in no order as everyone has their own preference and all are required plus hundreds more.

1. Communication

There are a few different communication devices available from Mobile Phones and CB Radio’s to Ham Radio’s and a lot more.

Personally I think a Mobile Phone and a Ham Radio would be the best option. Ham Radio requires a license to use but would be gold in an S.H.T.F situation.

2. Solar Power

Solar power is all you will have when you’re living off grid, I have 2 methods that I like. The ECO Worthy 100 Watt 12V Solar Panels Kit & The BioLite Camp Stove 2 for its dual purpose uses.

The BioLite can charge your devices whilst cooking your dinner, definitely worth its weight in gold.

Dave Canterbury of the Pathfinder School, LLC developed the “The 10 c’s of survival” as a handy list of the most essential tools for staying alive in a wilderness emergency.

Below I will list the 10 C’s of survival and link to the tools I personally use in my 10 C’s of survival kit to hopefully help you build yours.

As you can see I primarily use black items but most survival items are available in a multitude of colours. The ten C’s of survival is a great starting point for any survival kit or bug out bag as you have pretty much covered all bases.
